Will work for Tips
When it comes to money, most guys tend to be pretty black and white it's all about hard totals for from our perspective. And while I think that this is normally a good thing, you may want to consider this. When planning a wedding budgeting for all the expenses is important. One area that couples tend to neglect is the subject of tipping. From caterers to waiters to clergy members and so on it is customary to give a gratuity in addition to the regular costs and rates of vendors.
Some vendors will include a gratuity in their price for example the caterer adds a 20% gratuity charge in your contract so be sure to read the fine print. Although these amounts are not set in stone, if you receive exceptional service reflect that in your tip. And remember you can give a tip, but it is should not be expected.
Here's how tips generally break down:
1. Bartenders - $50 to $100 is plenty if they were slammed and handled it well.
2. Bridal Consultant - 10% of their fee.
3. Powder Room and coat room Attendants - $50 - $100 should be sufficient.
4. Clergy members - a $50+ donation, depending upon the length of the ceremony.
5. Civil Ceremony Officials - $20 and up - however - if they are a judge, they may not be allowed to take any money - legally, that is.
6. Photographer - you might offer 10% to 15% but tips are not common here.
7. Videographer - you might offer 10% to 15%, but again, tips are not common here.
8. Cake decorator - you might offer 10% to 15%, but once again, tips are not common here either.
9. Musicians or DJ - 15% of the contract for a killer job.
10. Limousine Driver and/or Luxury Transportation service provider - 10% to 15% cash to the driver.
To keep things simple just tip those that you feel went above and beyond. If they put a little extra Pep in their Step or Hustle in their Bustle then reward them for it!
